Water has been a central issue in California from early settlement to today. We have redirected or buried rivers, built dams and imported water from other states. Through our presentations we will explore water issues in California including: history, droughts and floods, water rights, water intensive farming, sharing water with other states and future issues of climate change and weather changes. A good reading resource might be Mark Arax book “The Dreamt Land: Chasing Water and Dust Across California”.
